*The Great Backyard Bird Count is scheduled for February 17-20. (Should we brush up on identifying Black-capped vs. Carolina Chickadee?) Remember that Phoebe Ruckle suggested bringing in our data to compare results. See www.birdsource.org/gbbc.
*The Doug Jolley Program,”Attracting Birds to WV Gardens,” a collaborative effort of Handlan Chapter and the South Charleston Library, is set for Saturday (afternoon), March 4.
*Christmas Count results will be distributed at the January meeting.
*Twenty-nine people enjoyed a great Christmas dinner on December 12 at Shoney’s on the Boulevard.
*The “Cats Indoors!” program of the American Bird Conservancy can get matching funds from the National Fish and Wildlife Federation. To help protect America’s yardbirds, send donations to Cats Indoors! Campaign, American Bird Conservancy, 1731 Connecticut Ave.NW, 3rd floor, Washington, D.C. 20009.
