The next meeting of the Handlan Chapter of the Brooks Bird Club will
> take place on Monday, April 18, at 6:30 PM, in the South Charleston
> Public Library. Our speaker will be Sue Olcott, biologist for the WV
> Dept. of Natural Resources, and she will give a presentation on "Dragons
> and Damsels in the Mountain State," explaining some findings from the WV
> Odonata Atlas Project.
> And speaking of atlas projects, remember to keep track of your breeding
> bird observations. Make note of birds carrying nesting materials or
> building nests, as well as mating activity. Pass your observations
> along to Doren Burrell or Jim Triplett so that we can enter them into
> the breeding bird database for West Virginia.
> We are still looking for your suggestions (and volunteers!) for officer
> of the Chapter. If you have suggestions as to who would be a good
> candidate for the positions of President or Vice President, please give
> your suggestions to our nominating committee, Don Morton and Martha Hopper.
> Don't forget that the Handlan Chapter will also have a booth at the Clay
> Center's Earth Day celebration on Saturday, April 30th, from 11:00 to
> 4:00. Stop by and share your interest in birds with youngster,
> oldsters, and everyone in between.
