March 2012

The next meeting of the Handlan Chapter of the Brooks Bird Club
will be on Monday, March 19th, at the South Charleston Public Library,
at 6:30 PM. At this meeting, we shall discuss ideas for the
reorganization of the club: officers, programs and plans to bring
interest to our activities and activities to our interests. This will
be open for brainstorming and your creative input. Bring your thinking
caps and your most creative spirits.

Don and Martha Shearer will also be giving a presentation about
Glacier National Park. They will be talking about the wildlife and the
natural environment of the Park, illustrating it with slides from one of
their trips.

Immediately prior to the regular meeting, the chapter's Executive
Committee will meet to discuss some administrative matters.

Bird Walk

We will host a bird walk, open for the public, at Coonskin Park
on Sunday, March 25th, beginning at 8:30 AM. Bring your binoculars and meet us in the parking lot above the duck pond, next to the playground.

Peregrine Falcon Watch

We are looking for some volunteers to watch for Peregrine Falcon activity at some of the bridges over the Kanawha River at Charleston and St. Albans/Nitro. If you are willing to offer some of your time for this, please contact Doren Burrell for more information, 304-343-5873.
