November Handlan Chapter Meeting

The Handlan Chapter of the Brooks Bird Club will have a regular meeting at the South Charleston Library on Monday, November 16, at 6:30pm.

Angela Allison from the New River Gorge National Park will discuss Camp Brookside, near the Brooks Island eagle nest.  The camp is an old Carbide Camp that the National Park Service is restoring as a 3-season overnight educational center.  It offers great birding and other nature study.

 Anyone interested in birds is welcome.  Hope to see you all there.

 

There will be a short Board Meeting before the meeting at 6:00pm.

Bald Eagle Count January ?? Bald Eagle Count on the New and Bluestone Rivers.  Coordinated by Jim Phillips.
January  Meeting at South Charleston Library January 11, 2016 - 6:30pm A show and tell session or educational DVD/webinar.
February  Meeting at South Charleston Library February 22, 2016 - 6:30pm Doug Wood will discuss Ward Hollow (behind the ponds at the old DOW building).  We may follow-up with a later field trip
Bald Eagle Count March ?? Bald Eagle Count on the New and Bluestone Rivers.  Coordinated by Jim Phillips.
March  Meeting at South Charleston Library March 21, 2016 - 6:30pm Jim Triplett will discuss his trip to Maine.
April  Meeting at South Charleston Library April 18, 2016 -  6:30pm Dr Ross Brittain will discuss the Northern Saw-whet Owl project. Dr Brittain is  Dean of the  College of Science, Technology & Mathematics, at Alderson Broaddus University. 
Annual Potluck Picnic May 16, 2016 - 6:00pm Coonskin Park.
