January 2007

January Meeting

Our next meeting will be Monday, January 8th, at 6:30 p.m. at the South  Charleston Public Library.  (We're meeting on the 2nd Monday because the library will be closed on the 15th for Martin Luther King Day.)  Connie Bergmark will present a program about nesting seabirds in Bermuda.  She will show an informative video on this subject, and also talk about her personal
experiences with birds and conservation in the region.

     Marilyn Morton will provide refreshments

There will be an executive committee meeting at 6:00 p.m.

Christmas Bird Count

Don and Marilyn Morton will have copies of the final, official results of our 2006 CBC, held on December 16th.  We had beautiful weather for the count, and several interesting finds.  We'll review those results, and we'll also talk about several intriguing observations that have occurred since the CBC (more Red-headed Woodpeckers, the Peregrine Falcon is still being seen in downtown Charleston, etc.).
