The Handlan Chapter will meet on Monday, October 15th, at 6:30 p.m. at the South Charleston Public Library. The executive committee will meet at 6:00. The program will be a special one. The speaker will be Bryan Watts, who got his start in birding as a teenage member of our Handlan club. He is now Dr. Bryan Watts, an accomplished ornithologist and head of the Center for Conservation Biology, which is connected with the College of William and Mary, in Virginia. Bryan will give a PowerPoint presentation about his ongoing research into the behavior and ecology of Bald Eagles in the Chesapeake Bay area. There will be an article about Bryan and his work in the Wild Wonderful section of Charleston's Sunday paper.
Cemetery Bird Walk
Russ Young will lead a bird walk this Sunday, October 14th, at the Spring Hill Cemetery. Meet at 8:00 a.m. at the parking area near the office. The forecast looks like we might have beautiful fall weather on that day. For more information, call Russ at 925-5668.
If you are a member and haven't yet paid your $10.00 dues for the year, our treasurer, Bev Wright, will be happy to accept payment at Monday's meeting. If you can't remember whether you are up-to-date with your dues, Bev can check her records and tell you.
Don't forget to look at our website to see what's new (kvbirdclub.org), and I hope to see you Monday!
President, Handlan Chapter
